Alabama A&M

The Information is Power program offers Alabama A&M students, faculty and alumni an opportunity to receive free genetic testing for inherited cancer risk.

This testing is made possible for students through a collaboration with Dr. Michael Johnson, Medical Director and physician at the Health and Counseling Center on the Alabama A&M campus to enable A&M students to receive free testing.

Since our partnership launched, we have provided free testing at several events including two Colon cancer Awareness events, the Bulldog Walk in September 2022, and the Health Center’s open house. We are also thankful for the collaboration with several on campus organizations including the Wellness Center, Melanated Doctors, and Violet Phoenix. If you are interested in offering free testing at an upcoming on campus event, please contact us.

We are grateful for gifts from the Russel Hill Cancer Foundation that have supported several events offering free testing on the Alabama A&M campus.

If you have already participated in the program and need more information, please contact Alabama A&M Student Health Services  at (256) 372-5601 or (256) 372-5800
