OUR MISSION

The mission of the Center for Genomic Medicine is to improve the health of people in our region and around the world through advances in genomic medicine. This mission is supported in the following ways:

• At the Center, physicians, clinicians, and researchers across its partner institutions conduct research to elucidate the genetic and genomic basis of human disease and develop programs to translate new knowledge of genetics and genomics to clinical practice.
• The Center supports the implementation of programs in genetics and genomics in clinics, hospitals, and among healthcare providers to improve the health of people in the region.
• The Center recognizes that the benefits of genomics will be advanced by educating the current workforce of healthcare providers as well as the future workforce – comprised of graduate students and medical trainees – on matters related to genetic and genomic medicine.
