BIOTrain Internship Program

The HudsonAlpha BioTrain Internship program offers students the opportunity to connect classwork with real‐world job experience and gain skills and knowledge that will prepare them for careers in biotechnology and related fields. Summer positions are available for undergraduate through master’s level graduate students, providing experiences that range from in‐depth laboratory research to biotechnology marketing, communications and business strategy

HudsonAlpha GOMA HBCU Co-Op Program

This initiative is a three-way partnership between the Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs (State of Alabama), participating Alabama HBCUs, and HudsonAlpha. Students will be required to complete two to three work semesters in order to gain a sense of professional experience in the area of their major(s).

L.A.B.S.

LABS equips high school students from disadvantaged and under-represented populations with the skills and knowledge essential to confidently take the “next steps” towards participating in tomorrow’s stem-based workforce. This program gives students the opportunity to work independently in HudsonAlpha’s state-of-the-art facilities, making them ready to take advantage of future laboratory opportunities.

SURE-GM

SURE-GM is a 2-year summer program for outstanding undergraduates in the state of Alabama who want to explore the potential of a career as a scientific investigator in the fields of genetics and genomics. Trainees will spend the first summer at HudsonAlpha and will concentrate on training in fundamental research skills. The second summer will provide a mentored research experience and will take place in a research lab at either UAB or HudsonAlpha. In addition, SURE-GM will provide opportunities to interact with other trainees, stay engaged through “SURE-continuity” and selected trainees will attend a meeting of the National Human Genome Research Institute of the National Institutes of Health.
