HudsonAlpha Faculty Investigator Jane Grimwood, PhD, was named a Woman of Impact by Alabama multimedia company Yellowhammer News.
In its third year, the Women of Impact Awards celebrates strong women who shape and propel Alabama.
Grimwood joins a group of impactful women who have made significant contributions in the nonprofit, government and business sectors.
Grimwood shared what inspired her to pursue a career in genomics and challenges in the field.
“Two years ago, I wasn’t even having the conversations that I’m having today with groups about what we can do… It is really exciting to be in genomics, just to see where this is going to lead us,” she said.
