This year marks the 50th anniversary of the Combined Federal Campaign, the nation’s largest workplace charity drive and the only philanthropic effort allowed by law in federal offices. This year also marks the first time that HudsonAlpha, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, is part of the local campaign.
This employee-focused campaign provides an opportunity for federal civilian, postal and military donors to give to the nonprofit organizations of their choice.
"We are very honored to be selected as a CFC agency this year," said HudsonAlpha President and Director Richard M. Myers, Ph.D. "To be in the midst of so many generous federal employees, including those working on our nation’s critical defense and space programs, is truly a privilege."
Donations to HudsonAlpha help advance its mission of genomic research, educational outreach and economic development. If you would like to support HudsonAlpha with your CFC gift, please use agency number 64243.
HudsonAlpha is among the 2648 local, national and international charities participating in the 2011 campaign. Last year, the Tennessee Valley campaign alone raised $2,797,310 – a 15 percent increase from the previous year. The 2011 numbers will be released by February 21, the day of the Tennessee Valley CFC Victory Celebration.
Since its inception 50 years ago, the national CFC has raised more than $6 billion for select charities.
