Huntsville, Ala. – The Alabama Senate and Governor Bentley have designated September 18 as ‘Pitt Hopkins Awareness Day’ in honor of a long-time AEgis employee, Teresa Smith’s 14-year-old daughter, Lakely.
Lakely, was diagnosed with Pitt Hopkins Syndrome in July of 2014 at the age of 13 by scientists at Huntsville-based research center, HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology.
