An inspiring and informative evening unfolded with HudsonAlpha President Rick Myers sharing details of an institute research project into childhood genetic disorders (spanning behavioral, physical and/or intellectual disabilities). The project will include children and families in North Alabama. Also in attendance was photographer Rick Guidotti. Guidotti’s photos of North Alabama children living with such disorders were on display. Guidotti is founder of Positive Exposure, a non-profit organization making a difference in how beauty is perceived. HudsonAlpha and Positive Exposure have partnered to shine a new light on living with difference. A surprise announcement on behalf of the HudsonAlpha Foundation was also made, saluting HudsonAlpha co-founder Lonnie McMillian. The Lonnie McMillian Inspiring Excellence Fund will help recruit and retain the very best researchers to HudsonAlpha.
