Food, Fuel and Fiber
HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology is uniquely addressing our global climate crisis through sustainable agriculture and plant sciences.
HudsonAlpha’s Genomic Sequencing Center (GSC) is one of the few centers in the world performing original sequencing of plant DNA and specializing in applying genomic techniques to understand how plants function in response to environmental changes, such as drought. The GSC applies its genomic approaches to solve current, real-world problems facing farmers today.
Researchers in HudsonAlpha’s GSC are working on solutions to feed and fuel the world for years to come. For example, drought-resistant strains of important foods and fuels that can weather harsh elements, and crops that only have to be planted once – rather than every year.
