The HudsonAlpha Professional Advisors Council is a group of local professionals with expertise in estate planning, accounting, wealth management and financial planning who support HudsonAlpha. Our advisors educate their clients about philanthropy and ways to financially support HudsonAlpha. The group met at HudsonAlpha on Thursday for their quarterly lunch meeting.
Rick Myers spoke to the council members about neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer and Parkinson disease, ALS, and Huntington disease. Rick shared how he first got interested in Huntington disease as a postdoc in the 1980s. He then explained HudsonAlpha’s new memory and mobility (M&M) fund, why funding neurological research is so important, and ways HudsonAlpha is planning to advance neurodegenerative research in the future.
