HudsonAlpha Parking Lot Resurfacing Project Begins April 5

Beginning April 5, HudsonAlpha will work with a vendor to resurface most of our campus parking lots and streets. While most of the resurfacing work will take place over the weekends, this multi-stage project is highly dependent on dry weather. Here are a few notes to ensure safety:

  • During the project, please observe all areas marked off-limits to pedestrian and vehicular traffic. Each restricted area will be blocked off on Thursday evenings, so parking on Fridays and over the weekend will be impacted.
  • Vehicles parked in the lots on scheduled resurfacing days will be towed. Please note posted signage and plan to park in an alternate location when necessary.
  • Do not move barricades. If you need to access campus during resurfacing hours, there will always be alternative routes and parking lots to use.
  • Employees and guests should be careful not to walk on areas being repaired or resurfaced—shoes should be checked before entering any facility.
  • A tar-like odor is expected throughout the duration of the work. Contact with the materials should be avoided.
  • Owners of electric vehicles (EVs) may need to charge vehicles at alternate locations when work is scheduled in their typical parking lot. There are EV parking stations on the west side of the 601 building, the west side of the 701 building and the east side of the Propst Center (800).
  • If you have any questions or concerns, contact Kyle Turner at kturner@hudsonalpha.org or via text message at (256) 652-3505.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. This effort will improve the safety and longevity of our parking lots and roadways.
