HudsonAlpha welcomes SavantZ to biotech campus

New resident associate company developing “Robots that help”

The HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology is excited to welcome SavantZ to its campus this summer.

SavantZ designs and manufactures cutting-edge humanoid robots that are capable of operating in human environments and performing tasks in biotechnology and health industries that cannot, or should not, be performed by humans. Robots can function in hospitals, research labs, pharmaceutical companies and more.

“We are very excited to be an associate company of HudsonAlpha. The extraordinary environment for growth that HudsonAlpha has built for biotech companies will accelerate our development,” said Charles Gibb, Founder of SavantZ.

SavantZ robots can operate autonomously without immediate human supervision or be remotely controlled, providing safety and security for hazardous functions.

“SavantZ is a unique company that fits HudsonAlpha’s mission to accelerate biotechnology commercialization and brings new expertise in robotics and artificial intelligence to the Institute. We are excited to have a startup company like this join our growing biotech business community and look forward to supporting the company’s growth,” said Alex Cate, Director of Entrepreneurship Programs for HudsonAlpha.

HudsonAlpha offers a growing biotech hub to small companies and start-ups by providing access to outside experts, marketing direction, and strategic networking opportunities. More than 45 life science associate companies and over 1,000 employees call the Institute home and collaborate with the nonprofit researchers to solve some of the world’s most pressing health issues.

HudsonAlpha has generated $3 billion in economic impact for the state of Alabama and continues to help grow Huntsville’s reputation as the biotech hub of the South.
