HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology Selected to Join Global Collaborative for the Agtech Startup Community

HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology is one of 12 regional ecosystem innovation hubs in the U.S. and four foreign countries to be selected as an Ecosystem Partner in a new platform called H.A.R.V.E.S.T. (Harnessing Agricultural Research and Venture Ecosystems for Sustainable Technology).

H.A.R.V.E.S.T. is a global collaborative agtech accelerator built upon the success of the Wells Fargo Innovation Incubators (IN2) and facilitated by the Yield Lab Institute in St. Louis, Mo.

As an Ecosystem Partner, HudsonAlpha will guide agtech startups into the program pipeline, connect innovators with resources and expertise and shape collaboration opportunities that will accelerate progress through the research-to-commercialization pipeline. While H.A.R.V.E.S.T. is an international endeavor, its partnership with HudsonAlpha is expected to have a significant impact on agtech innovation and economic growth in the Wiregrass Region and throughout the state, serving as a catalyst for Alabama agtech companies to reach beyond the Wiregrass to the world with innovations to improve the daily lives of people around the globe.

“Together with The Yield Lab Institute and our partners, HudsonAlpha is proud to support agtech founders – uniting our strengths in research, education and economic development in Huntsville with our growing Wiregrass innovation hub to deliver impact from Alabama to the world,” said Dillon Fritz, Vice President of Economic Development and Commercialization.

IN2 is funded by Wells Fargo and co-administered by NREL, a U.S. Department of Energy national laboratory. More information about the H.A.R.V.E.S.T. agtech program will be shared in the coming weeks online at harvestagtech.org
