- Time for lunch is included in the time shown in the descriptions of Investigating the Genetics of Cancer, Jumping Genes, Genetically Modified Snacks, Genes and Consequences, and Sequencing and Beyond. Lunch may be added to other experiences, adding 30 – 45 minutes to the schedule.

*Field trip experiences are made possible through support from the State of Alabama. Funding is available for Alabama public schools to offset HudsonAlpha-associated field trip expenses (materials & lunches). Transportation and substitute costs are excluded
To qualify for funding, a minimum lab time of 3 hours is required for middle school groups and 4 hours for high school groups. There is a limited amount of funding available to public schools in the state of Alabama for each school year. Once funding is exhausted, schools can still schedule field trips at cost.
