Function of regulatory regions of the human genome
Eric Mendenhall, PhD, joined HudsonAlpha as a senior fellow in 2021. His research focuses on defining the function of regulatory regions of the human genome and understanding how variation in DNA can alter gene regulation to produce human traits and human genetic diseases. Mendenhall was previously an associate professor at the University of Alabama in Huntsville and an adjunct faculty investigator at HudsonAlpha. He earned a PhD in Molecular and Cellular Biology from University of Minnesota in 2006, and a BS in Biology from University of Iowa in 2002.
