CRP Biotech Campus
One of the world’s leading science and technology business parks, Cummings Research Park (CRP) is a model for transforming research into business success. CRP, ranked as the second-largest research park in the U.S. and fourth largest in the world, includes a vibrant mix of 285 organizations including Fortune 500 companies, local and international high-tech enterprises, U.S. space and defense agencies and contractors, and competitive higher-education institutions.
A growing cluster of life science research, development and manufacturing companies is located in a specially zoned, 150-acre parcel—the CRP Biotech Campus. HudsonAlpha is the cornerstone of the campus, featuring 270,000 square-feet of laboratory, office and common areas. Currently, 12 for-profit companies are co-located in the building along with the institute’s not-for-profit researchers and administration.
Land Purchase/Lease Options
Competitive, long-term ground leases, as well as build-to-suit facilities are available for organizations seeking to build on the biotech campus.
Alabama state income and property taxes are among the lowest in the nation. Additionally, Alabama offers statutory incentive programs such as a corporate income tax credit for qualifying companies. Notably, Alabama Industrial Development Training (AIDT), part of the state’s department of postsecondary education, provides training services in a variety of disciplines at no charge to new and expanding industries throughout Alabama.
