Facilities Technician
HudsonAlpha is accepting resumes from individuals qualified as a facilities technician. The incumbent will work on electrical, HVAC and mechanical systems in support of customer requests, facility needs and routine maintenance. The facilities technician will also provide or respond to after-hours service needs. HVAC and electrical certifications are preferred and a universal refrigerant license is also desirable.
HudsonAlpha will consider only those applicants with at least 5 years of verifiable experience. A post-offer background check and drug screening will be required. Compensation is commensurate with experience and an excellent benefits package is provided.

Senior Scientist for Myers Lab ENCODE Project
Dr. Richard M. Myers’ laboratory at the HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology seeks an ENCODE senior scientist to help manage research in the lab. The applicant will help lead the experimental and computational work in a large effort to identify and characterize all the functional elements in the human genome, as part of the international ENCODE (ENCyclopedia of DNA Elements) Consortium. This high-profile project is part of a consortium of seven laboratories located around the U.S. and in the United Kingdom; Dr. Myers’ group has been funded to perform the largest project in the consortium. The candidate will help coordinate a group of four technicians and one or more computer scientists, and work closely with the principal investigator and several graduate students and postdoctoral fellows to do both computational and large-scale experimental work toward the goal of thoroughly studying and annotating the human genome.

HudsonAlpha Genome Sequencing Center
The HudsonAlpha Genome Sequencing Center (formerly with the Stanford Human Genome Center) is a group of nearly 30 people primarily involved in assessing, assembling, improving and finishing eukaryotic genome sequences. We are now applying knowledge gained from finishing three human chromosomes to understanding a wide range of eukaryotic plant, vertebrate, fungal and algal genomes. Currently, we have openings for a library construction group leader, finishing group leader and assembly and annotation group leader.

Buyer Assistant
A buyer assistant is needed to assist the purchasing manager in a variety of areas including fielding purchase requests, purchase order follow-up and review with suppliers, shortage tracking and reporting, and inventory control issues. Buying, expediting, or accounting experience preferred. Computer literacy, including experience with MS Excel is required. Must have the ability to communicate effectively with customers and suppliers and work independently with minimal supervision. Must be very organized and detailed oriented. Compensation is commensurate with experience and an excellent benefits package is provided.
