DNA Day Celebration 2011 – Taking it outside!

McMillian Park

McMillian Park on the CRP Biotech Campus
and the Jackson Center

Monday, April 25
beginning at 1 p.m.

You’re invited to mosey, stroll and above all, take it all in stride when HudsonAlpha celebrates DNA Day 2011.  The signature, double helix walkway of McMillian Park is the perfect location for a “genome walk” that encourages visitors to follow a variety of genomic pathways that explain mechanisms in human health and disease.  Looking for a bit more adventure?  Go on a genomic treasure hunt and track the identity of specific genes, such as those linked with cancer and other diseases, and genes critical to the development of bone, skin, muscle and blood.  Two pathways will feature genes studied by Alabama scientists.  Join the hunt because treasure awaits!

Two presentations will be offered later in the afternoon at the Jackson Center. The Jackson Center is adjacent to the HudsonAlpha Institute.
